HTC M7 To Go On Sale March 8th in France; €650 Price Tag and M7 Moniker

HTC-M7

When we talk about upcoming devices while covering Android news, we don’t really expect the devices to hit the market with the same codename we’ve been hearing for months now. Well, HTC are going to change that, as a new leak heavily suggests that the upcoming flagship from HTC will not only be launching really soon but, it’ll come with the M7 moniker intact. We’re not sure whether or not this will prompt a whole series of devices, like the One Series, but it’d be good to see HTC have a diverse line-up heading into 2013.

This latest leak appears to be a photo of promotional material from France’s Phone House retailer that is a big outlet of mobile stuffs in the region. The material appears to confirm not only the price, which is a hefty €650 but also the M7 name that we’ve been hearing for months now. Some of the specs have now been confirmed by the ad as well:

  • 4.7 inch Full HD Display(1920 x 1080 resolution)
  • 1.7Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Quad-Core Processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 32GB Internal Storage
  • 13Mpx Camera
  • HTC Sense 5.0
  • 4G,NFC Supported
  • Double HP Techno Beats Audio
  • 2300mAh Battery
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

As you can see there’s no mention of “ultrapixels” but, that doesn’t mean that HTC wont have something to say about the imaging quality of their upcoming flagship at their events in London and New York, in less than a fortnight away from now. The ad describes “double HP Techno Beats Audio” which we assume means it’ll come packing the same sort of amplification magic that was featured in the Droid DNA. Having a higher-clock speed than the Droid DNA and the Xperia Z could help the M7′s marketing, as well.

The pricing here is not cheap but, then again we’ve never expected HTC to compete on price when it comes to the high-end. Which could ultimately be a mistake for HTC. I know that I’m excited with what HTC have coming to market later this year, and curiously enough March 8th is my Birthday. The question remains though, can HTC bring themselves back from the brink with the M7 this year?
