How to Pick the Right Data Amount for Your Share Everything Plan

Finding the right data package for your Verizon Share Everything Plan is easy.

Verizon’s Share Everything Plan couples Unlimited Talk & Text with tiered data packages to provide you with the best deal possible when it comes to putting the nation’s largest 4G LTE network to use with your smartphone or tablet. A Share Everything Plan is ideal for families with multiple data devices, giving you a single pool of data that everyone uses for surfing, streaming and downloading.

Share Everything is really about simplicity. With Unlimited Talk & Text, you no longer have to worry about your voice or messaging plan. Instead, you just need to figure out how much data you (and the rest of the users on your account) need each month. Plans range from 1GB ($50 monthly) to 10GB ($100 monthly) and beyond, so you can tailor your package to fit your usage and avoid paying for unnecessary data.

Use the Share Everything Calculator or the Data Calculator to help you determine how much data you need. You tell the calculator the number and type of devices on your account (along with a rough estimate of how much data each uses), and the calculator suggests a data package.

Instead of paying for individual data plans for each device, you now pay one monthly access fee for data and share that pool of data with all devices on the account. Each device has a monthly line access fee for connected devices starting at $40 per smartphone, $30 per basic phone, $20 for a Verizon JetpackTM and $10 per tablet. And with Unlimited Talk & Text, you’ll never have to worry about minutes or messages again.

To help you stay on top and in control of the data use on your account, usage alerts are available at no extra cost. To help spread out your data usage evenly, add Verizon Usage Controls for $4.99 a month. You can set limits on data, voice and message usage; put a cap on allowances for games, apps and ringtones; and schedule time restrictions to keep certain family members from using their phones at school or late at night.
Data Sense, found on Verizon’s new Windows® Phone 8 devices, is another great way to take control of your data usage. It can be set to automatically compress incoming and outgoing data to save you bytes. Data Sense notifies you of available Wi-Fi hotspots and gives you up-to-the-second info on your data consumption via a Windows 8 Live Tile.

Data moves fast on mobile devices, especially on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. Be smart and keep it simple with a Verizon Share Everything Plan.
