More and more CES 2013 announcements are coming in, and after having shown you a review of an Acer Iconia B1 prototype tablet earlier today, we can now tell you that the device is finally official.
Acer’s Iconia B1-A71 – that’s its name according to the press release – is going to be a 7-inch Jelly Bean budget tablet ready to take on the Nexus 7 or Amazon’s Kindle Fires, to name just a few Android tablets popular with the crowds.
Specs and Features
We’ve seen the Iconia B1 star in a variety of rumors, with plenty of its specs and features being spilled before their time, but now we can finally confirm them for you:
- Android Jelly Bean operating system
- Mediatek dual-core 1.2GHz processor (MTK 8317T)
- 7-inch diagonal WSVGA capacitive multitouch screen with 1,024 x 600 resolution display
- 8GB of internal storage and 512MB DDR3 memory
- Wireless connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n

- micro-USB (charging and PC connect) with USB 2.0

You’ll certainly love the fact that unlike some similar devices out there – cough… Nexus 7… cough – the Iconia B1-A71 does come with microSD support for up to 32GB storage expansion. As for other specs and features, don’t expect the device to be a Nexus 7 contender when it comes to raw performance, but it will certainly get its job done.
Pricing
The Acer Iconia B1-A71 will cost “less than $150”
