Transparent display’s and smart glass technology are starting to creep into our everyday lives. We’re looking at more than just privacy screens and really cool digital signage, we’re also moving into the realm of digital storage. Taiwanese company, Polytron Technologies is looking at making transparent USB memory drives.
We were able to take a look at the different generations of the pen drives, the 2nd generation drive wasn’t completely transparent but it does have some transparent components to it. Both of the the USBs have an embedded LED so that you know that it is connected.
The transparent memory stick will come in 8, 16 & 32GB options. If you’re wondering if this is just a pipe dream these tiny pieces of future technology are heading into production after Chinese New Year, which is the end of February.
No word on pricing but you can be sure something this cool won’t be cheap. Check out our video below if you want to see it in action:
