Archos unveiled the full line of Titanium tablets back during CES and as of today there is word of availability for those on the UK. In this case we are referring to the Archos 80 Titanium which will bring an 8-inch IPS display and options for either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage space. The catch here, the 16GB model will be sold exclusively with Carphone Warehouse.

Archos has said that the 8GB 80 Titanium tablet will be available with Carphone Warehouse and that the 16GB 80 Titanium will be exclusive to Carphone Warehouse. No word as to when, or if this exclusivity on the 16GB model will expire, but at this time — that is where the purchase will have to be made. The retailer has the 8GB model priced at £129 and the 16GB model priced at £199.

Aside from the internal storage space, the features of the 80 Titanium tablet will include a display resolution of 1024 x 768 along with a dual-core 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, microSD card slot, HDMI, USB, front-facing webcam and a 2 megapixel rear-facing camera. The tablet is running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and will have access to the Google Play Store.

For those outside of the UK considering this model — Archos has said those in Europe will be able to make a purchase through the Archos EU website. We have also seen pricing for the US market, the tablet will be priced from $169. The catch with the US market, Archos has yet to offer an availability date.

Archos planning super cheap Samsung Galaxy Note 2 rival!

Archos planning super cheap Samsung Galaxy Note 2 rival!
Archos, the low price French tech peddler, is getting into the phone game, according to a new report. It’s prepping several Android phones with similar design to Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and Note 2 hit phones – but low, low prices.
According to blog hi-tech.mail.ru, Archos is working on three phones. The first, the 4.8-inch Platinum smartphone, packs a crisp 1280×800 screen, Android 4.1 and 1.7GHz quad-core processor, much like the Galaxy S3. But it’ll cost just $335 (£216) unlocked, meaning it could get even cheaper on Pay As You Go through a network when it launches.
Archos Platinum tablets pack super sharp screens on a budget
There’s also a low end 3.5-inch model that’ll cost $120 (£77), but it’s Archos’ plans for a giant 5.2-inch phablet that have got us most intrigued. Archos will be using a low resolution 800×480 screen and 1.2GHz processor to keep the (as yet unknown) cost down, but that’s still plenty of bang for your buck: if you’re after a phablet with a huge screen size for a live price, this might just be it.
Curiously enough, Archos has tried this before. Back in 2009, the company announced its own Archos Phone Tablet, but it never made it to market. All three phones are reportedly out in May, so perhaps it’ll be able to pull them off this time.

T-Mobile USA Getting BlackBerry Z10 on March 27

Blackberry Z10

This is it. The BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 are meant to be the symbolic last stand for the Waterloo-based smartphone company, but for whatever reason, they’re not timing a simultaneously worldwide launch. The Z10 started selling in the UK and some other parts of Europe late last week, Canadians are getting their hands on the new touchscreen BB10 device starting today, but what about our friends south of the border?

While we heard some non-specific rumblings about the BlackBerry Z10 making its way to the United States “in a couple months,” now we have some harder evidence saying it’ll debut with T-Mobile on March 27. That doesn’t necessarily mean that T-Mobile will be the first American carrier to offer the new BlackBerry, but that is the first “solid” date that we’ve heard. This comes by way of a leaked image from what appears to be some internal documentation, along with some information about a few upcoming Samsungs and an LTE mobile hotspot.

It’s quite possible that other American carriers, like Verizon or AT&T, will be launching the BlackBerry Z10 around the same time. It’s also quite possible that the QWERTY-packing BlackBerry Q10 will be ready by that time too, so perhaps that’s why they’re waiting out. As a quick refresher, the BlackBerry Z10 has a dual core 1.5GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, microSD slot, 8MP main camera, and 2MP front camera. Given that Canadian providers are selling the BlackBerry Z10 for as low as $140 on a three-year, I imagine standard US pricing will be about $199 on a two-year contract.

BlackBerry 10 OS and Z10 Have Great Sales in UK

BlackBerry launched their new BlackBerry 10 OS and BlackBerry Z10 smartphone last week in the UK and early sales appear to be promising. All Things D and Jeffries and Co. report the handset is selling very well in the U.K, with some stores even selling out of BlackBerry Z10 inventory already. BlackBerry is hoping the good sales in the U.K. will be a sign of strong upcoming sales in other countries.

Currently BlackBerry handsets are very popular in the teen demographic in the U.K., something they are yet to capture in other countries. This is a big change from their usual “business” audience.

We will have to wait and see how the rest of the world responds to the BB10 and Z10. What do you think of the handset? Would you pick one up?
